Weathergraph weather widget 1.0.247
Free Version
Publisher Description
Nowcast, daily view, rich styles, and unmatched attention to detail.
Newly added: Sky background, a new WatchOS 10 app with Smart Stack widgets, native mac app, rain & snow alerts and vertical (in a Dark Sky app style) layout option.
Weathergraph is a beautiful visual hourly weather widget and forecast for Watch, iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with the Apple Watch app, watchface complications and weather alerts.
Powered by Apple Weather, Foreca, Pirate Weather (aggregating NOAA's HRRR, GFS and GEFS), Open-Meteo, and yr.no/met.no.
It shows:
- Nowcast (real-time rain & snow forecast updated every 30 minutes – PRO only)
- Rain & snow alerts based on nowcast data (PRO)
- Hour-by-hour temperature (main colorful line)
- Hour-by-hour precipitation — rain, and snow (blue chart)
- Hour-by-hour cloudiness (cloud cover) and sunshine (clouds on top + sun rays)
- Hour-by-hour wind speed (red line) and direction (red arrows)
- Hour-by-hour precipitation or dew point (dotted line)
- Hour-by-hour atmospheric pressure, absolute, or rate of change (purple line or arrows)
- Hour-by-hour UV index (rainbow dashes)
- Real day/night (sky color)
- Daily temperature minimum and maximum (overlaid above chart)
- Actual temperature and place (on the top)
- Sunrise and sunset times
Hikers, runners, bikers, kite surfers, pilots, and many outdoor enthusiasts around the world love the at-glance readability, customizability, and reliability.
Weathergraph is offline capable. The app caches the last acquired forecast for up to 24 hours, allowing you to hike or run outside the network (or go running or biking with a wifi-only Apple Watch) and still see the most recently fetched data. The data refreshes automatically once a connection is available.
The hourly forecast is updated every hour, nowcast and rain alerts update every 30 minutes. If rain or snow is expected during the next 3 hours, you will get a notice on a widget (iPhone, iPad & Mac), a large complication (Watch), and a detailed 3-hour precipitation chart in the app.
Nowcast and alerts are powered by Foreca and depend on the precision of rain radars in your area.
Weathegraph cares about your privacy. No ads, no tracking, and no sharing of locations with third parties. This is how I want all the apps on my phone & watch to behave.
You can unlock professional Apple Weather, Foreca, Open-Meteo, and Dark Sky forecast sources, weather alerts, nowcast, and all styles and options via a reasonably priced subscription, which covers the cost of data and allows me to further improve Weathergraph. One-time Weathergraph Forever unlock is also available.
Thank you for your support!
If you liked Dark Sky, Weather Line, Weathertron, or Weather Strip, then Weathergraph might be the best replacement :).

Version 1.0.247
Reliability improvements, especially for cases of getting and expiring the subscription.
Previous emergency update fixes random crash during background update.
Made the purchasing & product restoring process more reliable (usually Weathergraph should pick up your purchases without a need for a manual restore).
SKY BACKGROUND: Enjoy the full-color background matching the sky at a current time of day. Tap the Skylight option in app and widget preferences, and you're in.
PREVIOUSLY:
The chart now loads much faster when you open the app. I've optimized it to only render the visible part initially, with the rest showing up afterwards. Result? Much snappier feeling.
Fixed a bug that caused widgets to update too frequently, which could result in the system temporarily disabling further widget updates.
Precipitation probability is now more visible on the skylight background.
New Menu Bar Icon: Now, Weathergraph is just one click away! Choose between an icon, temperature display, or both on your menu bar for quick access to detailed forecasts.
Keep your widgets regularly updated with ease with a new 'Launch at login' option.
RADAR AND CLIMATE
- NWS radar (for the US) or Windy.com (rest of the world) loads up with your actual location marked and centered.
- Weather Spark is a climate report service ran by enthusiasts, who love data visualization as much as I do. There is no better place on the internet to get the info about how are the Canaries in September. Weather Spark integration displays the closest point from the Weather Spark database (one is nearby).
MORE IMPROVEMENTS
- Weathergraph adds NWS (National Weather Service) forecast for all US based weather enthusiasts.
- Weekly chart: You can now see a week at a glance below the main chart, both in the app and in the large widget. Click the weekly chart to scroll directly to that time.
- Sun glow: As the murky autumn arrives, know when to look forward to a healthy dose of sun rays. The warm glow above the cloud layer highlights particularly sunny times.
- Option to have light drawn clouds with weather icons underneath.
- Forecast update button instead of difficult to invoke pull-to-refresh.
- New METAR unit set for aviation fans.
- Widget now updates more reliably.
- Weathergraph now remembers its window size (yay!).
- Widgets on a desktop in macOS Sonoma now have a special theme to match the blurred background.
- Open-Meteo forecast source adds UV index.
Vertical layout improvements:
- New zoom-in and zoom-out buttons.
- Both real and apparent temperature at once.
- Wind gusts now appear in the wind view next to wind speed and direction.
If you know of friends or fellow outdoors lovers, who would love Weathergraph's visual forecast, I'd be grateful if you could share or tweet a screenshot to let them know.
Thank you! Tomas.

Sun glow: As the murky autumn arrives, know when to look forward to a healthy dose of sun rays. The warm glow above the cloud layer highlights particularly sunny times.
- Smoother scrolling through the app and charts, especially on the older devices.
- Option to have light drawn clouds with weather icons underneath
- Forecast update button instead of hard to invoke pull-to-refresh
- New METAR unit set for aviation fans
- Widget now updates more reliably
- Weathergraph now remembers its window size (yay!)
- Widgets on a desktop in macOS Sonoma now have a special theme to match the blurred background
- Open-Meteo forecast source adds UV index.
Vertical layout improvements:
- New zoom-in and zoom-out buttons
- Both real and apparent temperature at once
- Wind gusts now appear in the wind view next to wind speed and direction
BUG FIXES:
- Mac widgets now redraw properly after preference changes
- Empty app state no longer flashes during loading
- Fixed widget margins on older macOS
- Widgets shouldn't be randomly missing or going blank anymore - if they still are missing for you, please try restarting the device to let the system reload them
- Re-added the image describing how to long press & drag the chart to scrub through the weather forecast
The last update was a bit rushed as I was too eager to launch early.
I apologize about the problems - thank you for telling me swiftly about them!
If you know of friends or fellow outdoors lovers, who would love Weathergraph's visual forecast, I'd be grateful if you could share or tweet a screenshot to let them know.
Thank you! Tomas.

Fixed a random crash after start, that I accidentally introduced in the last update.
PREVIOUSLY:
Vertical layout now adds wind & wind gusts view for all the sailors, surfers & kiters out there. And the corner UV-index watch complication looks a bit nicer.
Weathergraph is now also a native mac app for both Apple Silicon and Intel macs.
A brand-new UV index complication for your watchface. Keep the sun's intensity at your wrist and know when to take cover or lather up with sunscreen.
Please keep the Low Power mode off to let Weathergraph (and other apps) update the forecast in the background.
Why: I simplified the background updates to make the app more reliable. Previously, I tried to update the forecast during widget updates as well, but this is not how the widgets are supposed to work. As a result, the app was often killed by the system for running over the strict limits for widgets.
Now, the app only uses the background update mechanism. As a result, both updates and widgets should be more reliable during regular use, but on the other side, no app is allowed to run background updates during Low Power mode.
So, to always have the fresh forecast, keep the Low Power mode off. Thanks!
Beta of weather alerts arrives to Weathergraph – get a heads-up before rain or snow! I'm all ears for the feedback, thanks!
Arrrr! Pirate Weather arrives as a new data source, indie-made by the exceptional Alexander Rey. High resolution and accuracy over the continental US and Canada, using NOAA's HRRR, GFS and GEFS models. Comes with its own 60 minute nowcast.
Feels-like (apparent) temperature arrives to widgets as well – it will show up when the apparent temperature is different from the one on the thermometer.
Feels-like temperature is now represented with a hatched area in the chart, when you set the Temperature style to “Real + Feels like”.
The independently run Open-Meteo forecast source adds 14 days forecast and now comes with precipitation probability as well, matching other services. This update also adds 2 extra days to the Apple Weather source, improving it to 9 days in total.
If you know of friends or fellow outdoors lovers, who used Dark Sky, I'd be grateful if you could share or tweet a screenshot to let them know.

Emergency fix for product restoring and purchasing - if Weathergraph's loading spinner got stuck during these operations, it should now be fixed. Please accept my apology, and if your purchase or restore failed, please try again now.
PREVIOUSLY:
Vertical layout now adds wind & wind gusts view for all the sailors, surfers & kiters out there. And the corner UV-index watch complication looks a bit nicer.
WatchOS complications fix: An unexpected watchOS bug caused Weathergraph's complications to stop updating or show '--' instead of their content. But don't worry, it's an easy fix! Please remove all Weathergraph's complications from all of your watch faces (at once) and re-add them. Apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding!
Location permissions workaround for a future watchOS version: If the watch app cannot get a location permission, I added a workaround that syncs the location from your iPhone.
Weathergraph is now also a native mac app for both Apple Silicon and Intel macs.

Plus, the widgets now should work reliably without disappearing. This took some time to track, thank you for the patience!
Plus more accurate text for wind forecast, reliability improvements, bug fixes, and updated screenshots.
Independently run Open-Meteo forecast source adds 14 days forecast and now comes with precipitation probability as well, matching other services. This update also adds 2 extra days to the Apple Weather source, improving it to 9 days in total.
Enjoy the new outlook!
The “full chart” complication option is now turned into a new standalone complication. This allows you to combine both the text and full chart on the Modular Duo watchface, while still using the chart with the temperature row on the other watchfaces.
New simple yet elegant text complication contains current conditions, today's highs, lows and precipitation total, and a time of the next sunrise or sunset. Pick it as an alternative for Modular, Compact and Nike watchfaces.
If you know of friends or fellow outdoors lovers, who used Dark Sky, I'd be grateful if you could share or tweet a screenshot to let them know.
Thank you! Tomas.

Arrrr! Pirate Weather arrives as a new data source, indie-made by the exceptional Alexander Rey. High resolution and accuracy over the continental US and Canada, using NOAA's HRRR, GFS and GEFS models. Also comes with its own 60 minute nowcast.
This update also fixes an issue where Pirate Weather nowcast shows sleet when the obtained nowcast doesn't contain precipitation type (thanks, Ryan!).

Custom cloud styles. You can now pick one out of four cloud styles: clouds plus precipitation icons, just clouds, lightweight cloud style, or no clouds (and more space for the temperature chart).
Thank you for the suggestions, Ian and Joe!
Plus, the preferences screen got a refresh, and I made clouds a little bit smaller to leave more space for the chart.
LAST UPDATE:
Apple's new Apple Weather service (beta). Be the first to try the hourly forecast from a beta version of Apple's new weather service. Hit the Preferences button and switch the forecast source. Nowcast isn't available yet, so it will be provided by the good & trusty Foreca.
And dew point comfort scale. Enable humidity or dew point in the chart to see the feel for a given hour on a dew point comfort scale. From dry through pleasant, comfortable and humid up to miserable or extreme, Weathergraph will inform you both in the details section and chart tooltip. Thank you for introducing me to the comfort scale, Sebastian!
BEFORE:
Interactive chart, just in time for summer trips! Need to know the exact conditions for a given hour? Long press the chart to show all the data, or press and slide your finger over the chart to “scrub” through the forecast.
Custom style for widgets! Love the Iconic style, but the blue-accented one on a black background would match your wallpaper better? Now you can - check the preferences.
Accent styles are arriving to iPhone & iPad. Pick one of a large scale of accent colors to match your mood or wallpaper.
Weathergraph is now also significantly faster, thanks to chart rendering using the extra cores your iPhone, iPad, or watch has.
Light, dark and black (for widgets) color scheme and wind gust chart.
You can now override the widgets to always use light, dark, or a new 100 % black mode, to better suit your wallpaper. And the same goes for the app. Prefer always light or dark? Pick it in preferences.
The new option in Wind Style preferences allows you to plot wind gusts on a chart as a transparent area above the wind line in the same color as the wind.
This comes in handy when cycling or kiting, or just to not have a nice day ruined by strong wind gusts.
Made thanks to Mikael & many others, who suggested this feature - thank you!
You can now pick a location name as a complication title to see your whereabouts on the watchface.
Nicer Always-on-display for Apple Watch complications.
Every style now has a custom-fit variant for always-on-display - enjoy the colorful watchface even with a wrist down.
Thank you, Josh, Case, and everyone else, for suggesting this improvement!
Looks gallery - pick one of the preset charts looks for a quick start, then customize the chosen one as you need.
The brand new legend that explains everything, including the newly added metrics. Long overdue, thank you for your patience!
BRAND NEW ICONIC STYLE, UV INDEX & RAIN PROBABILITY
Keep it simple with the new iconic style, or add as many metrics into the chart as you like.
UV index: Weathergraph can now show the UV index chart, and will tell you about today's (or tomorrow's) UV index maximum in the details section. Green = low, yellow = moderate, red = high, and purple = very high.
And finally, a rain probability. You can now see both precipitation and precipitation probability with Foreca forecast. Alternatively (also new), you can choose to see precipitation as an area chart instead of bars.
ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE?
Weathergraph now displays atmospheric pressure.
Pick one of the two visualizations:
- the line works great to see the absolute pressure development over time
- arrows clearly illustrate a rate of change
If you like the app, I would be thrilled if you could post a link or screenshot anywhere outdoor people like you hang out :).
Thank you! Tomas.

BRAND NEW LOOK. NEW THEMES. AND ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE.
Weathergraph visuals now shine brighter and fit better with other iPhone apps.
Widgets got a new background that fits a large scale of wallpapers on your homescreen.
New Ultralight and Gradient Outline themes await you in a theme picker - a brilliant choice for the minimalistic homescreen.

- If Weathergraph is running, it triggers a forecast check on a connectivity change - so you will get a forecast update the moment your iPhone or Watch connects to wifi. This could help T. and many other adventurers and field workers (thank you for the suggestion!).
- A button to leave a review on the App Store - thank you!
And initially:
After a year and a half on everyone’s wrist, Weathergraph goes to the big screen. Enjoy the visual hourly weather forecast on your Watch, iPhone, iPad, and M1 Mac, and keep an eye on the weather with one of three widgets and numerous watch complications.
I am as thrilled about the launch as many of you are, and I am sure you have ideas about where the Weathergraph could go - please let me know!

Visual daily forecast now shows a total of rain or snow for the day. Plus fixed a news message not opening a news screen, causing the news message to hide the chart until the news screen is opened manually.
Previously:
Snow is now expressed in centimeters or inches of snow layer, instead of milimeters of its water content. As the difference is significant (1 mm of water creates 3 - 20 mm of snow depending on temperature), the forecast will now better correspond to outside conditions. Thank you, Roger, for alerting me to this!
Visual daily forecast! First developed for an upcoming (really really soon!) iPhone app and widget, you are first to see the daily forecast on your watch.
Also new: many visual and chart readability tweaks made thanks to a preparation for iPhone app. And collapsible text section for anyone who prefers visuals.
Enjoy, and look forward to iPhone & iPad app!
Nowcast is now supported on all large or text complications on Modular, Utility, Activity, Infograph, Photo, Astronomy, Explorer, Motion, Memoji, Solar graph and Timelapse watchfaces (in addition to Infograph Modular and Modular Compact watchfaces supported before). Enjoy!
Plus a fix of location name accidentally appearing on watchface instead of condition.
Significantly faster rendering, nicer complication on colored watchfaces, and return of dashed & dotted lines for humidity and wind speed (as they got a bit lost in previous updates :)).
RAIN & SNOW ALERTS! AND MUCH FASTER APP! :)
Weathergraph will now happily inform you when a rain or snow is on the way, up to 2 hours in advance. Enjoy the autumn trek and stay dry!
I also rewrote a large part of Weathergraph, leading to much faster app start time. And fixed many bugs (apologies to everyone whose first time experience was choppy). A lot of joy all around!
And before that?
NOWCAST! Realtime rain & snow forecast updated every 15 minutes.
If a rain or snow is expected during the next 3 hours, you will get a notice on a large complication, and a detailed 3-hour precipitation chart in the app.
Nowcast is powered by Foreca, and depends on precision of rain radars in your area. Available for Weathergraph Pro users.
New 8-bit Mario theme to freshen up your watchface. Give it a go!
Open-Meteo, an up-and-coming indie forecast service combining global models with local services, with great precision in Europe and North America.
Plus:
- Apple Watch 7 support
- New 2.5 days range is ideal for seeing today and next two days (thank you, Jörgen!)
- Foreca — a premium forecast source with a renowned worldwide accuracy coming up to your wrist. Set it up in preferences, and enjoy precise forecast.
- "3.2 mm rain and 7 mm snow in the next 24 hours." — See how much of trouble will be the upcoming precipitation with the precipitation summary.
- Precipitation chart now considers even small peaks of rain/snow that would happen in between the bars, that would have been missed previously. More precision for everyone!
- Added a touch of color to make always-on-display nicer
- Allow maximum zoom (up to 7 days with fresh data)
- Lot of bugfixes, including stabler background updates & always-on-display support in app
And going way back?
Zoom & scroll
- Independent zoom for complication and app. Need to see next day on your watchface, and three day outlook in the app? Now you can :)
- Tap the chart, and turn the digital crown to zoom to quickly see what's coming up
- Tap the chart multiple times to quickly peek to next five days (when zoomed in) or to next day (when zoomed out)

Snow is now expressed in centimeters or inches of snow layer, instead of milimeters of its water content. As the difference is significant (1 mm of water creates 1 - 10 cm of snow depending on temperature), the forecast will now better correspond to outside conditions.

Fixed text forecast summary - if you have seen "overcast on and on ..." after a last update even though a sunshine was on the horizon, that was my fault, mea culpa. All fixed now. And again a bit faster app start.
